Rafael Nadal is eyeing to hold the US Open 2010

Top ranked male tennis player, Rafael Nadal, is hoping to get his maiden US Open tournament this season in New York as he is yet to get this major crown. The 24-year-old player is not worried about the US Open title victory.

He has already won eight Grand Slam trophies so far in his career- one in Australian Open, five in French Open and two in Wimbledon Open.

He has never been able to go further than semi-final in the US Open in New York. He reached the semi-final round twice in 2008 and 2009 where he was beaten by Andy Murray and Juan Martin Del Potro each time respectively.

The two big arch rivals, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, have faced each other so far on a total of twenty-one occasions, including seven major finals- at least once at each of the other three Grand Slam championships. What is interesting is that they have never faced each other in the US Open tennis tournament.

Commenting on his last two defeats at the US Open, Rafael Nadal said he was physically and mentally worn out. Perhaps, he is more fit and probable player to win the trophy this time. If he can win the trophy at the US Open then he will write his name in the list of players who have won all four Grand Slam trophies.
