Who can win French Open 2010?

French Open 2010 is the second Grand Slam of this year. It is scheduled to start from 23rd May 2010 and it will continue until 6th June 2010. Top seeded players around the world will take part in this tournament.

Roger Federer is the defending champion of this event. He won his maiden title in Roland Garros last year after beating Robin Soderling in straight sets in the final.

On the women’s side Svetlana Kuznetsova won her first ever French Open title as she defeated Russia’s Dinara Safina.

Now, some betting companies have already started betting. In their betting list, world number three Rafael Nadal will be the most probable player to have won the trophy this year. Recently, he has got victory in the Rome Masters and equaled the record of 17th Masters title set by Andre Agassi. Rafael Nadal is called the king in clay court. He has already won five Grand Slams in this clay court and will be eyeing for another one. However, he will have to face a tough challenge as he has struggled a lot went on without any title in other surfaces. I can not see anyone who can handle him with due courage and caliber.

On the women’s side Justine Henin is perhaps the most likely player who can regain the trophy again. She has been performing well in the Masters level. Recently, she has won the Porsche Grand Prix after beating Samantha Stosur in the final match. I hope that she will continue her form and become world number one tennis player in WTA ranking. Perhaps Serena Williams will be a tough competitor for her. Another player is Kim Clijsters. She is now in good form. However, we can not certainly tell anyone that she can win the trophy. But it is sure that fans can enjoy can exciting tournament this year.
