Rafael Nadal looks to be the favorite to win the French Open 2010

Rafael Nadal, who is now 3rd seeded in Men’s tennis, looks favorite to regain his French Open title. The question is why Nadal looks to be the favorite to win the event. It is known to all that he is a best player in clay court. He has won most of his Grand Slams in this court. However, he could not keep his dominance last year and his title went to top seeded player, Roger Federer.

Rafael Nadal is now in good form. He made his return to the professional tennis and won his 17th Masters level tennis. It will give him boost to continue his winning streak.

It is also said that Roger Federer may not hold this trophy this year. The reason is that he has claimed just a single victory on clay. His victory came against world number 138 Bjorn Phau of Germany.

May be, Roger Federer will store his energy and skill ahead of the Roland Garros. Fans also think that if Rafael Nadal fails due to his inherent knee injury, Roger Federer could achieve the calendar Grand Slam. I can not see any player who can make strong protest against them. I hope that Rafael Nadal will take the dominance and retain his trophy once again.

However, French Open 2010 is almost near at hand. It will kick off at 23rd May 2010.
