Albert Montanes defend his Estoril Open title second time

Defending champion, Albert Montanes, defend his title for the second consecutive time after defeating home favorite, Frederico Gil, in the final match of Estoril Open on Sunday.

For the fourth seed tennis player, Albert Montanes, it was not an easy victory as he struggled hard in the second set but he could manage to come back in the competition and seal the victory with 6-2 6-7 (4-7) 7-5.

Frederico Gil made his entrance in this tournament as an unseeded. He is also the first Portuguese player to reach the final in Estoril. He made a convincing start after winning his first game in his without losing a point. But he could not continue his dominance as he lost to Montanes in the final match.

Albert Montanes defeated top-ranked male tennis player, Roger Federer in the semi-final game. This victory encouraged him to continue his winning streak in this recently concluded tournament. He is now eyeing to play on Roland Garros and continue his form in clay court. May be, he will develop his position in the ATP rank. Albert Montanes is now currently ranked 34th in the world.
