Maria Sharapova Keen to Give a Shot at Fashion Designing

Former world no. 1 of women’s tennis Maria Sharapova has expressed her desire to be involved in fashion designing. She finds designing fashion clothing a creative job and wants to explore it. In fact, she has also indicated that she could be involved in fashion designing in a large scale after her retirement from tennis.

fibre2fashion reported:

She said, "I love designing and also love the fact that it's very creative and since the world of tennis has opened up many doors, I intend to explore all of them”.
She added by saying, “And designing fashion clothing is certainly one of them and I definitely hope that after my tennis career, I will be able to expand on that."

Her tennis skill coupled with her beauty helped Sharapova gain a celebrity image throughout the world. However, it seems that the Russian is now busy in her out-of-court activities. It is true that Maria Sharapova has already won 3 grand slam titles and she is still 22, but the way she is going now, it seems that she is gradually going to follow the footstep of fellow Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova.

Maria Sharapova returned from a shoulder injury after a long lay-off and did not have enough success since winning the Australian Open 2008. So, Sharapova should be more focused on her game; in stead of spending time in fashion designing. She is just 22 now and it is not the right time for a sports star to think about what he or she would do after retirement.
