Kim Clijsters Diasspointed at the Doping Ban Imposed on Fellow Belgians Yanina Wickmayer & Xavier Malisse

US Open champion Kim Clijsters has revealed her utter disappointment at the one-year ban imposed on compatriot Yanina Wickmayer and Xavier Malisse for their failure to fulfill the "whereabouts rule". Wickmayer failed to complete the ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration and Management System) on three occasions, while Malisse did the same twice and miss a dope test. That is why, both of them were given one-year bans by the Flemish Doping Tribunal (VDT).

Kim Clijsters thinks that they were handed a punishment that they do not deserve as they were not tested positive in the doping test. However, US Open semi finalists Wickmayer and Malisse can still appeal against the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Initially, it was thought that the two young Belgians would only be given some warning for their mistakes. So, the one-year suspension came as a big surprise. Now, let us see if Court of Arbitration for Sport overturns the verdict given by VDT.
