Andrew Strauss Set up an Example of Sportsmanship

England captain Andrew Strauss has set up an bright example of sportsmanship during England’s 6-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their opening match of ICC Champions Trophy 2009. The incident was the Sri Lankan batsmen Angelo Mathews had an unintentional collision with pacer Graham Onions while going for two runs and by the time he reached the crease, a direct throw from Joe Denly already broke the wickets.

Angelo Mathews then started walking for dressing room, but Strauss, showing excellent sportsmanship, asked Mathews to return to batting. England captain earned huge praise from cricket fraternity for his action. No doubt, Strauss has done something praiseworthy and I think, young cricketers should learn this lesion from Andrew Strauss.
