Several former Pakistani cricketers criticize Mohammad Asif selection in the 15-member squad

Pakistan’s tainted fast bowler Mohammad Asif’s inclusion in the 15-man squad for ICC Champions Trophy has created a lot of questions over the selection. Several former Pakistani players could not take it easily. They criticized the selection committee. However, former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz expressed his feeling saying that Mohammad Asif should not be included in the national squad.

Mohammad Asif has not played any of the matches for last 18 months. Even he did not practice more. Last we saw him playing in the inaugural edition of Indian Premier League. He was accused positive in a drug test and band from international cricket. His ban will end on 22nd September and you should know that Champions Trophy will begin on that day in South Africa.

I think that Mohammad Asif may have to work hard to acclimatize with cricket due to his long absence. Can he play any potential role for his team?
