Kevin Pietersen Worried about the Future of Test Cricket

England batsmen Kevin Pietersen expressed his concern over the decreasing popularity of test cricket. According to Pietersen, test cricket is dying gradually because of ever-increasing popularity of twenty20 cricket around the world. He thinks that popularity of test match cricket has been decreased significantly around the world, but he feels himself fortunate considering the fact that England team can play test match in front of a full crowd in England. Pietersen also said that cricketers would go for the format which will have popularity among the cricket fans. That is why, he is very much worried about the future of test match cricket.


However, Pietersen has assured that he has no plan to quit test cricket. Rather, he wants to continue representing England in test cricket for another 5 to 6 years. Pietersen is now out of action due to injury and would not be able to play the rest of the Ashes series as he would require six weeks to get over the injury.


Well, there are many who are also in fear of the future of test cricket. Now, let us if test cricket can survive amidst the growing popularity of twenty20 cricket.
