Bangalore vs Deccan IPL Final 2009 Live Updates

Cricket fans are waiting for Sunday’s much-anticipated final of IPL 2009 where Bangalore Royal Challengers will take on Deccan Chargers. This is expected to be a highly competitive match, given the current form of both teams. Both teams outperformed their oppositions pretty easily in the semi final and both sides have a number of match winners who are capable of bring the result in favor of their teams.

IPL 2009 Final: Time

The final match of IPL 2009 will take place on 24 May 2009. As the match will be held on Sunday, it is expected that many people will come to the stadium to enjoy the match in South Africa. Television audience is also expected to increase for the final match as it will be holyday in India too. The match kicks off at 16:30 local time and 14:30 GMT. Cricket fans in India will be able to watch the match from 20:00 IST (Indian Standard Time).

IPL 2009 Final: Venue

The match will take place at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg in South Africa. Wicket of Wanderers usually helps the batsmen, but it also provides assistance to the spinners in turning the ball. Pacers could also find some swing in the wicket, but overall batsmen and spinners are expected to get more assistance from the wicket. So, Bangalore spinners Anil Kumble and Roelof van der Merwe as well as Deccan spinners Pragyan Ojha and Rohit Sharma will get some help. However, it is expected that batsmen will dominate in the match. So, I think, there will be decent amount of runs scored by both teams, but given the quality of the spinners of both sides, I do not think that the final is going to be a very high-scoring match.
