Michael Vaughan Included in 25-Men England Performance Squad

Michael Vaughan has been handed a new central contract as he has been recalled to 25-men performances squad. The former captain stepped down from English captaincy following defeat to South Africa in the home test series last year. Since then, he could not yet retain his place in England test and ODI squad and missed England’s tour to India and West Indies. Now that, he has been handed a 12-month central contract, Vaughan can now work harder to retain his place in England squad ahead of this year’s Ashes series.

Yorkshire spinner Adil Rashid has also earned a central contract, becoming the only uncapped player among the 25-member squad. Wicketkeeper James Foster, who plays for Essex, and Lancashire pacer Sajid Mahmood have been recalled to the England squad. Kent captain Robert Key has also earned a recall to the England’s performance squad and has come under central contract with ECB.
