Gary Kirsten: India Aiming to be No. 1 in Cricket World in 2009

Indian coach Gary Kirsten has recently said that India’s aim in 2009 is to achieve the no. 1 spot in world cricket. Kirsten believes that India is heading towards the right direction and they have developed a great team ethic. To Kirsten, the strong side of the team is that every member of the team prepares very well for a game. India has already clinched the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka winning the first four matches of the five match series. Tomorrow is the fifth match and India is now aiming to sweep the series 5-0 in what India would make another step in their pursuit to become the no. 1 team in ICC ODI ranking.

Winning the fourth ODI, India has moved to no. 2 position with 122 rating with South Africa leading the ranking table with 125 rating. Indian team played really very well in the first four matches including the big margin victories in the last two. Now, let us see if India can make whitewash the home side, winning the fifth match of the series.
