New South Wales allrounder Moises Henriques has been called up surprisingly for the first time by Cricket Australia (CA) for the upcoming Twenty20 match against visiting New Zealand on Sunday. The 22-year-old player was taken aback when he heard about the call up into Australian team. Moises Henriques, though, is considered to be one the bright prospects of Australian cricket, has not been impressive in terms of his performance with this state team New South Wales so far this season as he was relegated to New South Wales Second XI after a series of poor performance for the first team. Moises Henriques was recently included in the Prime Minister's XI which defeated New Zealand recently in a limited over tour match.
Born in Portugal, Moises Henriques arrived Australia at a very early age and has been very impressive for Australia’s youth team. The surprise call up of Moises Henriques has come as part of Australian selectors’ experiment over the squad ahead of this year’s Twenty20 world cup.
