Sourav Ganguly about Sachin Tendulkar and Indian Selection

India’s most successful captain, Sourav Ganguly, has recently said that Sachin Tendulkar is the only automatic choice for Indian team in both forms of cricket. Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar played together for more than a decade, and the two batsmen made perhaps the most notable opening partnership in the history of one day cricket. Well, Ganguly as a cricketer suffered a lot because of politics of Indian cricket and he was omitted from Indian national team for almost one year, even though he was praised as the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket.

Timesofindia reported:

"This holds true for everyone with the only exception being Sachin Tendulkar... getting dropped and picked is a part and parcel in everyone's life," Ganguly said at a felicitation hosted by his home association CAB.

The former India captain remembered his "difficult" days in 2005 when he had a spat with the then coach Greg Chappell and consequently dropped from the Indian team.

Ganguly also said that he himself was also disappointed when he was a victim of wrong selection process of BCCI. That is why, he said that Tendulkar is an automatic selection for Indian team, considering his contribution to the Indian cricket so far.
