Sri Lanka vs India 2nd ODI 2009 Live Score and Updates

India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka kicks off on 28 January 2009 with the first match of the five-match ODI series getting underway at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. Besides the ODI series, India will also play a Twenty20 international during the tour spanning two weeks. Indian cricket team is expected to leave for Sri Lanka on 26 January 2009.

Sri Lanka has returned from Pakistan after winning the ODI series convincingly in Pakistan. In fact, the 234-run victory in the third and the final ODI against Pakistan must have boost up the confidence level of the Sri Lankan team and it is expected that they are now full of confident ahead of the ODI series against India. After the home series against India, Sri Lankan will return to Pakistan for the test series.

India’s recent form is also very impressive. India thrashed South Africa 5-0 in their last ODI home series. Last year, India clinched the five match ODI series 3-2 in Sri Lanka, even though they lost the test series 2-1 at the hands of Sri Lankan team. India did not play any international match since their home test series against South Africa, but Indian players played in domestic cricket during this time. So, Indian team also has enough reasons to be confident ahead of the ODI series. Nimbus holds the worldwide television right for the five match series and the Twenty20 match. So, NEO Cricket is expected to telecast the matches live. However, in England, the matches will be telecast live on Zee Cinema as Nimbus has sold the UK telecast right to Zee Network UK. Three of the five ODI matches will be day/night.

Cricket fans in India and Sri Lanka are very much excited for the upcoming series. Sri Lanka’s mysterious bowler Ajantha Mendis seems to be a threat for the visitors, while Indian’s youth dominated batting line up could present Mendis with some nightmares. Mendis thrashed Indian batting line up in the final of last year’s Asia Cup as his career best 6 for 13 led Sri Lanka to win the Asia Cup title, but Mendis could not dominate the Indian batsmen in the ODI series at home that India won 3-2 later on. So, the series seems to be full of excitement and cricket fans are eagerly waiting for it now. Here, I am giving the schedule of India’s tour of Sri Lanka 2009:
